Cassandra's boyfriend, Eric Pearlman, comes over anyway with a pizza. And there are further complications: Kelley's twin brother and wastrel, Morgan "Mercury" Branscombe comes over uninvited. Brion takes a liking to him, Eric doesn't, and things start to happen.
Cass tries to put Brion to bed, but a dark shape threatens him. Brion appears to have been scratched.
Mercury begins to show his gift as an unseen force shows out. Kelley's chances of being accepted by a normal friend seem to dwindle away in the face of psychic danger.
