Dear Readers,
Tale No. Five "Stone Corners" Parts One and Two is now out on
Substack. I am excited. Unlike Kindle Vella which was
expected to take flight and soar, but never left the nest, Substack
seems to have a very healthy readership due to the many political
journalists using this platform. Certainly, they can welcome
one little ol' fiction writer?
This story is based on three real houses in Alton (represented as Piasa in the Raven Twins stories). Some of the events described were relayed to me second hand by someone dabbling in witchcraft and some owes to my simple imagination.
This was the first story to feature both the Branscombe or Raven Twins. It turned out to be the longest one yet. My first intention was to write a whole series of paranormal investigations around two people or a little crew. It changed and morphed into teens and into being invested and imbued with people and places I knew from one particular area Alton, Illinois.
Parts One and Two are just the first half of the story! There is more. And there are more stories about Piasa to tell as its real-life counterpart, Alton, Illinois is one of the most haunted ghost river towns.
Also, I'm excited to join X. If I want to branch out to more
readers then X is the place to be to post news and get posted
about.
